歌词与诗节
4 段
Verse 1
When desire has given birth And sin has fully grown, Why should others reap the death From seed that I have sown? I have slain the cherished lamb, Now I deserve to die. You alone have borne my sin, Yet will You hear my cry?
Verse 2
I have heard the bitter words, That I shall join the dead. And I turn my face away To plead upon my bed. Roll the shadows back, O Lord, Before my grieving eye, That, believing, I may know That You have heard my cry.
Verse 3
Once I scorned the prophets' words, And gloried in my shame, Building idols in my heart Where You had placed Your name. But in chains You brought me low When I was lifted high. In humility I bow; Now, will You hear my cry?
Chorus
"Yes, I have heard your prayer, And I have seen your tears. The sorrow of My child Has fallen on My ears. Your gentle Father's hands, In love, are reaching down To heal your broken heart And raise you from the ground."
