22030. HE STOOD UP FROM THE THRONE
Lyrics & Stanzas
4 portions
Verse 1
They were so angry with Stephen, To kill him they all took up stones. From heaven Jesus was watching, And His care for Stephen was shown. With great concern Jesus stood up from the throne.
Verse 2
He had a great mob around him, Bloodthirsty and holding those stones; But, boldly preaching the gospel, He knew He would not die alone. He looked and saw Jesus, Standing at the throne.
Verse 3
Now, if you're Jesus' disciple, You'll see your share of hurtful stones. The devil will test your courage. But, don't think your suff'ring's unknown. Take courage from Jesus, Standing at the throne.
Chorus
When you need greater courage, Be sure you're never alone. By faith look and see Jesus, Standing for you at the throne.
